Isle of Palms is home to the Wild Dunes resort, but this barrier island has so much more to offer. If you’d prefer the flexibility of living outside a gated community while also enjoying the same beautiful beach as Wild Dunes, consider purchasing a home on Isle of Palms. The island is seven miles long, but only one mile wide, so you’re never far from the beach no matter where you are. While the area around Front Beach is a draw for visitors during the summer months, the island’s five thousand full-time residents can still easily find a quiet spot elsewhere along the expansive beaches. If you’d rather be in the middle of things, there’s always something exciting happening on Front Beach: grab an ice cream at Ben and Jerry’s, see a concert at the Windjammer, or meet friends for lunch at Coconut Joe’s or Banana Cabana.
